Driver flees scene after police car struck in Scarborough

TORONTO – Police are looking for a female suspect after a police car was struck in Scarborough early Thursday morning.

A grey Pontiac Montana van struck the cruiser and fled the scene at around 4:00 a.m. on McCowan Avenue just north of Lawrence.

The suspect driver is a black female.

According to police the driver will likely face several charges, including failure to remain at the scene of an accident, dangerous driving and assaulting a police officer.

Toronto police have alerted Durham Police, the OPP and other nearby municipalities to keep a look out for the van.
