Montreal police searching are searching for a suspect in what is being described as a hit-and-run in Rivière-des-Prairies overnight, after a car crashed into a tree.
Shortly after 3;15 a.m. Sunday, officers responding to a 911 call about a car crash near the corner of Rodolphe-Forget and Perras boulevards, found a heavily damaged vehicle but no occupants.
Montreal police spokesperson Caroline Chevrefils told Global News that a subsequent search in the area hadn’t turned anything up.
“There are no arrests and we didn’t find anyone with any injuries,” she said.
The investigation continues with officers hoping to locate the vehicle’s owner in the near future.
