Vancouver Fire crews rescued three cats and a chameleon from a burning house on Prior Street, in the Strathcona neighbourhood, Friday afternoon.
The fire crews arrived at the scene around 1 p.m. and were able to pull several family pets from the blaze. The property contained multiple suites housing two families, six cats, a dog, and a chameleon.
Residents at home at the time of the fire were able to get out along with some of the pets.
The residents of the suite where the fire started were not home when it broke out.
Fire crews were able to battle the flames, but one suite was extensively damaged, while the remainder of the house suffered minor smoke and water damage.
