Police are investigating an incident involving a male allegedly exposing himself to a nine-year-old girl in Nanaimo on August 12.
Mounties said the incident happened at the Nanaimo Harbourfront walkway at about 7 p.m. when a family was out for a stroll with their two young children.
The family was walking up the spiral staircase near Javawocky Coffee House when they noticed a man between 50 and 60 years of age sitting on a bench at the top of the stairs. Police said the mother turned to go back down the stairs to get her son when she heard her daughter calling for her. Her daughter told her mother that the man had pulled down his pants and showed his penis to her. The husband tried to find the man but the suspect had left the area.
