A 22-year-old woman suffered stab wounds to her back and chest after an altercation at a Dartmouth hotel Tuesday night.
Halifax Regional Police were called to the Holiday Inn on Wyse Road just before 10 p.m. Police located the woman and she was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect left the hotel before police got there.
Officers say they arrested a 22-year-old Halifax man at a home on School Avenue shortly after 6 a.m. Wednesday.
The victim and the suspect are known to each other, police say.
No arrests have been made and police are still investigating.
