Mayor Don Atchison said the idea is ingenious.

“I congratulate the owners of Market Mall for being so visionary and being the first ones in the city to do it,” Atchison told Global News.

“I suspect you’re going to see other malls in the city probably jump on board in the future because what you’re really doing here is building in for yourself an instant clientele who are going to shop in your facility.”

Saskatoon-based RBM Architecture has been hired to design the complex for Fishman Holdings North America, the Toronto-based property company that owns Market Mall.
