Cochrane man charged after his gun was stolen: RCMP

A 53-year-old man in Cochrane had his .357 stolen from his vehicle in front of his home on Bow Ridge Road.

On Sunday, Aug. 14, the man noticed his unlocked vehicle had been entered and that the revolver he had kept inside the centre console was missing.

The man went to the Cochrane RCMP to report the missing gun.

The man told RCMP his handgun had been in his console with 25 rounds of ammunition.

The 53-year-old has been charged with unsafe storage of a firearm.

The gun is still missing and RCMP are reminding people to not leave anything of value or temptation in vehicles and also to lock all doors.
