A 21-year-old man attacked his father during a church service in Bowling Green, Kentucky Sunday morning, according to reports.
A Bowling Green man allegedly stabbed his father during the 9:30 a.m. service at Hillvue Heights Baptist Church, police told WKBO.
Members of the congregation told WKBO both men filled out first time visitor cards at the beginning of the sermon, and claimed they were visiting from Arkansas.
Bowling Green police told local media outlets the man was subdued by congregation members and security workers and taken into custody following the stabbing. The victim was taken to a hospital where his condition wasn’t immediately known.
Witness Ashlyn Rice was standing at the back of the crowded church when she heard a commotion towards the front. She says it happened near the end of the 9:30 a.m. service. She saw people run for the door and followed them.
Police told WKBO Ethan Buckley of Bowling Green has been charged with assault.
