UPDATE: A $5,000 reward is now being offered to anyone who can locate the foal.
The owners of a 12-day-old foal are heartbroken after discovering it was stolen last night.
“Liesel” and her mother were put in a Langley pasture along Telegraph Trail for the first time on Sunday night, and last seen around 9:30 p.m.
This morning the mare was found in the field, possibly sedated, and Liesel was gone.
It is suspected the mother was drugged so her foal could be stolen.
Owner Fiona Ross says she is very worried about the health of the foal as she needs mother’s milk and careful attention.
Liesel is a warmblooded Oldenburg show jumping horse with a value of $10,000 to $20,000.
Anyone with information on the missing filly is asked to call Langley RCMP.
