Investigators with the criminal investigation unit are taking over the search for a missing Dartmouth woman after a Friday search did not locate her.
Ground search and rescue crews along with the Halifax Regional Police searched for 43-year-old Cheryl Parsons in the Woodlawn area throughout the day on Friday.
Parsons was last seen at a residence on Trillium Court on Tuesday. She was reported missing to police on Thursday, according to Const. Dianne Woodworth.
In a statement on Friday, Woodworth said investigators believe Parsons may be in the area of Gregory Drive.
Parsons is described as a white woman, 5’1″, 240 pounds, with long straight dark hair. She also has a tattoo of a green frog on her right calf.
Police are asking residents to check their backyards, sheds, and outbuildings for any sign of Parsons.
Officers are asking that Parsons or anyone with information on her whereabouts call Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5020.
