Rain, hail, lightning and two tornadoes hammered parts of Manitoba Wednesday evening, after a thunderstorm ripped through the province.
Environment Canada confirmed two tornadoes touched down in southern Manitoba, as well as a funnel cloud southwest of the city.
Around 5 p.m., the first tornado touched down near Margaret, Man., which is about 230 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg. It was a brief tornado and there wasn’t any damage.

The second tornado was larger and longer. It was first reported 10 kilometres west of Baldur, Man., around 5:20 p.m. It then headed north towards Stockton, where a large machine shed was destroyed.
Glenboro resident, Chad Berry said his barn was ripped from its foundation from the tornado. Luckily, his home was untouched.
Environment Canada said it is “continuing to investigate these and other unconfirmed tornadoes.”
Hail, wind and rain
Parts of the province were also hit by hail, wind and heavy amounts of rain.
Environment Canada says the most rainfall came in Erickson, who got 104 millimetres. The strongest wind gusts came in Morden, hitting 111 km/h.
Winds also blew around trees and knocked over power lines. In Morden the wind was gusting to 111 km/h.
There was also loonie sized hail in Brandon and Riding Mountain.
