The country is getting ready to see one of Canada’s most iconic bands as The Tragically Hip begins their tour in Victoria tonight.

The group announced the tour just months after lead singer Gord Downie was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

After taking the stage in Victoria, the band will head to Vancouver, playing their next two shows at Rogers Arena on Sunday and Tuesday.

They will play a total of 15 shows across Canada, finishing up the tour in their hometown of Kingston, Ontario, in August.

Tickets for the Man Machine Poem Tour are sold out, but the band has announced there will be a ticket lottery on the day of every show.

Fifty winners will be selected and will be given access to purchase two tickets. These are not transferable to someone else.

Winners will be notified via email by 1 p.m. on the day of the show and then will need to arrive at the venue’s box office between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. local time on show day.
