SGI lists temporary locations after flash flooding in Estevan, Sask.

SGI services in Estevan, Sask. have been temporarily relocated following last week’s flood.

According to SGI, the flooding in Estevan on July 10 has caused more damage at SGI’s facility on 5th Street than originally anticipated.

SGI staff have temporarily been working out of the Estevan Claims Centre garage and at other insurance broker offices.

From July 19-21, licence issuing services will be available at motor licence issuing offices in Estevan. Some transactions can be completed online using MySGI.

Written driving exams will take place at Cathedral Insurance Brokers at 10-910 13th Ave. Road tests will be done in the parking lot at the SGI facility at 1009 5th St.

Claims services are available by contacting 1-800-667-9773. Claims staff will not be available Thursday afternoon during relocation, but other staff will handle the phone calls.

By July 22, all SGI services, including claims, licence issuing, and driver examinations will be relocated to 1210 7th St. until the SGI building is repaired.

Last week, Estevan came under a state of emergency when roads and basements were left under water by storm sewers unable to handle at least 130 millimetres of rain that fell in at least two hours.

The state of emergency was lifted on July 13.
