An Okanagan Falls man jumped into action to defend his home when two intruders broke in Sunday morning.
RCMP said the homeowner blocked the road existing his property, preventing the two male suspects from driving away.
They added the homeowner also demanded that the suspects put the stolen property back in the home.
Police said one of the suspects fled the scene, running towards Highway 97, while the other suspect stayed by the vehicle.
“When police arrived, they arrested that male,” said Cpl. Don Wriggles.
“They located the other male hitchhiking on the highway, waving a $20 bill to passersby with hopes of being picked up.”
Brian Barata, 39, and Anthony Alfred Yungen, 41, have been charged with break and enter with intent to commit offence, possess break-in instrument, and break and enter.
