A Kelowna family has a new appreciation for the power of nature after lightning nearly struck their home.
The lightning struck a cottonwood tree on the family’s property in the Lower Mission Monday while there was a thunderstorm watch in effect.

The strike came down the tree and singed a clothes line.

Fortunately, there was no damage to the home.
