Caplansky’s Deli has finally settled a bitter lease battle with its landlord which will allow the popular restaurant to continue serving smoked meat at its College Street location for the foreseeable future.

“We have amicably settled our dispute with our landlord and look forward to serving you at College Street for many years to come. Thanks for all the love and support,” wrote Zane Caplansky in a Facebook post on Monday.

Caplansky was handed a foreclosure notice last month that stated the lease had been terminated and the location seized due to “failing to effect repairs not authorized by the landlord.”

The dispute subsequently went to court with the judge ruling the restaurant could remain open until an agreement was reached between the two parties.

With the lease battle now over, Caplansky closed up shop on Monday to celebrate with a staff appreciation event.

Further details surrounding the settlement remain undisclosed as part of the mutual agreement.
