In a release, police said Williamson has a history of sex offences involving children, including prior convictions for sexual interference, possession of child pornography and committing an indecent act.

Now that he has served his sentence, Williamson is being monitored Calgary Police Service High Risk Offender Program.

Police said they issued the warning after “careful deliberation and consideration of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to inform the members of the community of [Williamson’s] release.”
