A severe thunderstorm that passed through the Calgary area Tuesday afternoon caused heavy downpours and flash flooding across the city.

Environment Canada issued a warning at 3:45 p.m. about a severe thunderstorm located over south Calgary that was sitting “nearly stationary.”
The rainfall caused floodwaters to swamp vehicles parked at the Southland LRT station.
At Heritage station, meanwhile, vehicles were pelted with hail.

Roads like Bow Bottom Trail were also flooded, leaving some vehicles and drivers stranded.
