Heavy rain in the forecast for Saskatoon with a rainfall warning in effect.
Rainfall Warning for Saskatoon
A rainfall warning has been issued for Saskatoon and much of central and southern Saskatchewan for 70 to 100 millimetres of heavy rain expected by Wednesday morning.
Environment Canada says locally higher amounts are also possible with some embedded convection.
The culprit for the heavy rain was a deepening low pressure system in North Dakota that will stall over southern Saskatchewan on Monday afternoon and linger in the area into early Wednesday.
Elsewhere across the south, general amounts of 40 to 50 mm are expected before the entire system moves off into Manitoba early Wednesday.
Saskatoon Funnel Cloud
Numerous funnel clouds popped out of the sky over Saskatoon just after 6 p.m. on Sunday evening catching many off guard.

Cold core funnel clouds do not typically touch the ground, but Environment Canada has been issuing weather advisories to inform the public when funnel clouds are possible and photos of them begin to surface on social media, which occurred numerous times last week in Saskatchewan.
Unlike last week though, there were no weather advisories for funnel clouds issued by Environment Canada on Sunday evening, so the only place people could find information was on social media.
