Peterborough, Ont. woman charged with arson after fire set at wrong address: police

A 22-year-old Peterborough woman has been charged with arson after police say she set fire to a garage at the wrong address during a domestic dispute.

Peterborough police and firefighters responded to a garage fire at a Charlotte Street home at around 5:20 a.m. Saturday.

Police said they discovered the incident was domestic-related, but determined the fire had been set at the wrong address.

The unnamed woman sustained injuries from the fire and was transported to a local hospital where she was treated and released into police custody.

She was later charged with arson, appeared in court on Sunday and will make another court appearance Monday.

Police said her name will not be released due to the domestic nature of the incident.
