Several Global Okanagan viewers have sent in photos of a funnel cloud formation spotted over Lake Country.
The cloud was seen above Terrace Mountain around 2:20 p.m.
Lloyd Furneaux captured an image of the cloud.
“I looked out the window and saw it was getting fairly dark,” Furneaux said. “I went out onto the deck to see what was going on and that’s when I saw the funnel cloud. There was lots of lightning with it too.”

Environment Canada says funnel clouds are created by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms, however they are not normally dangerous.
Furneaux says the funnel cloud he saw did not touch down, but stayed above the treeline.
