RCMP said Alison Benita Close was last seen near the Strathmore Walmart Thursday morning.
The 60-year-old woman was scene wearing her work uniform at the time. She’s been working at the Super 8 Stathmore motel for almost a year when she didn’t show up for work.
Alison’s boyfriend says she had left her home Thursday morning for work, nothing out of the ordinary.
“She was at that time phoning for a taxi at 8:00 a.m.,” Peter Pender said. “So she gave me a kiss and we said we loved each other and I haven’t seen her since.”
An hour later her colleagues began to call, worried that she hadn’t come in.
“At around nine, her work starts calling and saying ‘have you seen Alison, she’s not here’, so I said no. As far as I know she was on her way to work,” Pender said.
“That’s one of the reasons we’re treating it as a serious thing, because it’s not like her to not call or show up to work,’ constable Andrew Leclair, with the Starthmore RCMP, said.
The taxi dropped her off at a shopping area in Strathmore and her boyfriend says she withdrew money from an ATM.
Investigators believe Close may be in the Calgary area but she doesn’t have a cell phone.
Calgary police have been alerted.
Close’s family is worried because Alison does not have a car.
“I don’t know how she took off out of here. Somebody gave her a ride? What type of person?” Pender said.
Pender said he’ll be heading to Calgary to put up signs. He just wants to know she’s safe.
“Her heart, her big heart. I love her. I want her to come home,” Pender said. “I’m big time worried about her.”
Alison is described as 5’2” tall, 130 pounds and has shoulder length reddish coloured hair.
Anyone with any information as to the whereabouts of Alison are requested to call the Strathmore RCMP
