Scrimmage concludes Winnipeg Jets Development Camp

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Jets wrapped up their five day Development Camp with another scrimmage on Thursday.

Team Blue avenged the loss in the first intrasquad game on Tuesday with a 6-4 victory.

Logan Stanley who played on Team White in the first game switched over to Team Blue for the rematch and he scored a marvelous goal, showing why the Jets traded up to take him in the first round of the NHL Draft.

“I just want to keep getting better and keep improving.” said Stanley after the final skate. “So I just got to go home and keep working on my skating and my foot speed and come back to camp in September ready to go.”

Kyle Connor was held without a goal for the second straight scrimmage game. But he still felt like he had a productive camp.

“For me I think I accomplished what I came here to do.” said Connor. “Kinda get more familiar with the organization and also learn what it takes to be a pro.”

“I think the competitive nature of everyone comes out and get an opportunity to have some fun.” said Jets General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff. “It was good. The off ice stuff was received very well. A lot of the in the gym training and the nutrition and all the things that go into this week, I think it was a real productive week for everyone.”

The Jets top prospects will return to Winnipeg for rookie camp just prior to the Young Stars Classic tournament in Penticton, BC from September 16-19.
