Alberta sees 5 tornadoes in 4 days: Environment Canada

WATCH ABOVE: Severe weather rips through Alberta over the Canada Day weekend.

Environment Canada has confirmed five tornadoes touched down in central and southern Alberta over the course of four days.

The agency says two of the twisters were rated EF-1 while the others were EF-0, meaning moderate to light damage.

It says the first, rated EF-1, hit near Ponoka on June 30, damaging trees, windows and a roof of a home.

On Canada Day, a twister touched down near Didsbury, but because there were no reports of damage, it was rated EF-0.

Two tornadoes hit on Saturday near Longview, south of Calgary, and snapped trees.

Watch below: Five tornadoes have now been confirmed over one weekend of wild weather across Alberta. The storm that hit close to Sedgewick was particularly scary for the Stoodley family. As Fletcher Kent explains, they were far too close for comfort.

On Sunday, a EF-1 tornado damaged a farm outbuilding southwest of Hardisty.

Environment Canada meteorologists are still seeking pictures of the tornadoes and of any damage they may have caused.

There were no reports of injuries for any of the twisters.
