A Regina man is recovering after he was stabbed in downtown Saskatoon on Wednesday morning in what police say was not a random attack.

Officers were called out to the area of 24th Street and 2nd Avenue just before 7 a.m. CT for a report of a stabbing.

They found a 23-year-old man with a stab wound.

He was taken to Royal University Hospital for treatment of the non-life threatening injury.

Police have arrested a 30-year-old Saskatoon woman.

Saskatoon police continue to investigate.
