MONTREAL – A Pierrefonds parakeet was reunited with its owner thanks to Facebook, after having been missing since Saturday.
According to a post on Petluck.ca, a website that advertises lost and found pets, the bird went missing on Saturday, June 18.
” I lost my parakeet at dinner time, when I took his cage outside and forgot to close it,” said the presumed owner.
A day later, Marissa Dominique Leon-John posted a picture of the bird on her hand to a Facebook group.
“This beautiful little bird just landed on me while I was at the BBQ,” she said.
“I’m in DDO off Hyman near Fairview Alliance Church. If anyone is missing their bird please reply.”
Another user posted the link to Petluck.ca but the bird had flown away from Leon-John’s hand, only to return shortly after.
Leon-John called the owner who managed to pick the bird up.
“Everyone is happy, safe and sound! What a great day!!!!” posted Marissa Dominique Leon-John on the Facebook group.
“Thats amazing! What are the odds. Wow!” said Michele Lanteigne.
“Love, love, love happy endings!!!” posted Carole-Anne Girouard.
