A teacher has been arrested in Port Alberni for making child pornography.
Thirty-six-year-old Daniel Oliver was arrested and subsequently charged with the crime last week.
The investigation began in May, when a covert online investigator, posing as a single mother of an eight-year-old daughter, was approached by Oliver in an online chat forum, known for child exploitation activity.
Oliver was identified as the suspect and it was determined he was a teacher in Port Alberni.
He was arrested and search warrants were executed at several locations.
On Tuesday, Oliver appeared in court and was released from custody, with strict conditions regarding his access to children and the Internet.
