Kelowna – Everyone will be able to play pianos in Kelowna parks again this year. “Pianos in Parks” is back for its second year. That means the sound of piano music will be enjoyed on public walkways, waterfronts, parks, and this year, even under a dome.
“This morning we are launching year two of Kelowna’s Pianos in Parks, but the exciting part of this announcement is that even after just one year under our belt we are already expanding the program” said Renata Mills of Festivals Kelowna.
This year there will be eight pianos in public spaces, three more than last year. Among the new locations are Roxby Park in Rutland, and under the dome at the Kelowna Memorial Cemetery.
The pianos are available for anyone to play, and will be there all summer. The instruments are being made available to the public with the help of Keystone Music and Disney Interactive.
“Walt Disney once said, ‘Do what you do so well so that they will return to see it and bring their friends,’ and I can honestly say that Renata and her team at Festivals Kelowna have done it well again this year,” said Natalia Strauch from Disney Interactive.
