Global News gets the scoop on the top items brides should pack in their purse on their wedding day from makeup artist Karen Malcolm-Pye:
- 1) Long-lasting lipstick or lip gloss
“Brides always get their makeup done thinking it’s going to last all day, but lips are the one thing you’ll have to touch up,” Karen Malcolm-Pye said.
Malcolm-Pye recommends a long-wearing product like Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick.
- 2) Lash glue (if you’re wearing fake lashes)
“Everybody is wearing lashes these days,” Malcolm-Pye said.

“What can happen – more specifically with strip lashes – is they can lift in the corners, so it’s important to have a lash glue,” Malcolm-Pye added.
“A really unfortunate thing to see is when you see a beautiful photo of a bride and the lashes are starting to come off.”
- 3) Sunscreen
“Really important to have a sunscreen,” Malcolm-Pye said. “I really like a zinc-based sunscreen for your wedding day because it’s long-wearing and you don’t have to re-apply.”
“One of the most important things to have in your bag is sunscreen.”
Her recommendation is a sunscreen like Revoderm Immuvex Mineral Sunscreen.

- 4) Blotting papers or powders
According to Malcolm-Pye, blotting papers or powders are a great way to take away shine or sweat without removing your makeup.
“Shine happens doing photos outside, your adrenaline is naturally bubbling on your wedding day so your temperature is heating,” she explained.
Malcolm-Pye recommends MAC Blot Powder or Jane Iredadle Facial Blotting Papers.
- 5) Hair spray
- 6) Bobby pins and a comb
- 7) A sewing kit
- 8) A nail kit
