Father dies, son survives fall on Mount Rogers

Golden RCMP say a father is dead and his son alive after a fall on Mt. Rogers Wednesday.

Just after 6 p.m. local time, RCMP received a call from Parks Canada about a report of two mountain climbers sliding 100 meters before falling 10 meters over a mountain cleft.

The son survived the fall and managed to call for help. His dad died as a result of the fall and remained on the mountain until he was removed Parks Canada Search and Rescue this morning.

Both men are from 108 Mile Ranch, B.C.
