Officials cite recent bold behaviour in wolves and incidents of wolves accessing human food in camp sites as the reason for the warning.

Park officials are reminding people of appropriate behaviour, including storing all food and garbage out of sight, keeping an eye on children and pets and carrying bear spray.

The park is requesting any wolf sightings be reported to Banff Dispatch at 403-762-1470.

The warning is in place now and is in effect until further notice.
