Environment Canada issued a frost advisory for much of central Alberta Monday afternoon.
The advisory extends from Airdrie, Cochrane, Olds and Sundre right through to Whitecourt, Edson and Fox Creek. The temperature is expected to be near the freezing mark overnight.
The city of Calgary and the city of Edmonton are not under the advisory with overnight temperatures expected to be around 3 degrees Celsius in Calgary and closer to 5 degrees Celsius in Edmonton.
Environment Canada will issue a frost advisory when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season.
Typically the frost-free season begins between May 21 to June 1 in those regions.
