Police identify two people killed in head-on crash near Kenora, Ont.

KENORA, Ont. – Police have identified two people killed in a head-on crash near Kenora, Ont., last week.

They say Lisa Kabestra, 47, and Julius Taypaywaykejick, 50, both of Grassy Narrows First Nation, died at the scene of Thursday’s collision.

Investigators say their minivan collided with a pickup truck on Highway 671 near Mark Lake.

Two people from the pickup truck were taken to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say charges are pending.
