A proposal to shift the dates of the annual Fair at the PNE has organizers of country fairs in Maple Ridge and Abbotsford expressing concerns.
PNE officials have floated the idea of holding the fair earlier in the summer, possibly to the last two weeks of July.
That’s because late summer rain has dampened attendance numbers in recent years.

But officials with the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows Country Fest and the Abbotsford Agrifair say the change would have a negative impact on attendance at their events.
