RCMP say driver killed in 2015 crash near Castle Falls was intoxicated

More than eight months after a driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Castle Falls, RCMP said a medical examiner’s report confirmed he was intoxicated at the time.

On Thursday, Mounties said Calahan Henry Bruder, 19, died of blunt force trauma after he lost control of his pickup truck and it rolled on the Ohagen Road west of Pincher Creek on Sept. 6, 2015.

Three other people in the truck were injured and police said at the time Bruder was not wearing a seatbelt.

According to RCMP, the medical examiner’s report showed Bruder’s blood-alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit.
