Just in time for the long weekend, Global News has launched its next-generation SkyTracker Weather App to offer Canadians personalized weather forecasts and alerts directly from our network of renowned meteorologists.
The SkyTracker app offers precise current weather conditions and forecasts for your location, down to the postal code. The app gives localized 15-minute precipitation forecasts for the next six hours, so you’ll know if that incoming thunderstorm is going to miss your neighbourhood before you cancel your barbecue.
Global News’ own local meteorologists will also send push alerts to notify you of upcoming major weather systems or emergent weather patterns that could impact traffic or travel. The app also offers Global News’ daily weather forecasts for your region, and weather-related news.
The app includes 10-day and hourly forecasts, and a weather map of the region that zooms out to show the entire country, with high-resolution satellite cloud imagery.
If you don’t want to go that deep, the home screen provides a current localized forecast with temperature, humidity, wind and precipitation, as well as a two-day forecast with highs and lows and precipitation forecasts.
