Blue Bombers looking for new defensive backs coach after Greg Knox joins McMaster

WINNIPEG — The Blue Bombers are in need of a new defensive backs coach after Greg Knox resigned to take the position of interim head coach with the McMaster Marauders of the CIS.

Knox just took over the job as the Blue Bombers DB coach in the off-season after the departure of Barron Miles. Knox was the Bomber’s linebackers coach in 2015. It was his first year with the football club after leaving McMaster.

Knox joined the Marauders as their defensive co-ordinator in 2006 and helped the school win the 2011 Vanier Cup. He coached a total of nine seasons at McMaster and spent one season as the defensive co-ordinator at the University of Toronto. As a player, Knox was a two-time CFL All-Star at defensive back and won two Grey Cups with the Calgary Stampeders.

At McMaster Knox takes over the head coaching position from Stefan Ptaszek who recently left the school to join the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as their new offensive co-ordinator.
