As for the Port Mann, traffic is up 15 per cent since the start of construction at the Pattullo.
“It makes no sense at all,” said Delta Mayor Lois Jackson. “We should have taken tolls off the Port Mann in order to alleviate the problem.”
Transportation Minister Todd Stone said they will not be lowering the tolls on the Port Mann Bridge. “There are financial obligations that have to be met,” he said.
Delta Police are also writing more tickets these days as people try to take shortcuts to get on the Alex Fraser Bridge and end up making maneuvers such as illegal u-turns.
