No safety concerns after possible security threat at north Toronto high school

Police have concluded an investigation into a possible security threat at Northern Secondary School near Mt Pleasant Road and Eglinton Avenue.

Officers received the call early Friday morning as students started arriving for school.

Police have since blocked off the roads surrounding Northern Secondary School including parts of Broadway and Rawlinson avenues and Mt Pleasant Road.

As a precaution, the Toronto District School Board posted an emergency alert redirecting staff and students to a nearby school until the investigation is complete.

On Friday afternoon, the TDSB said the investigation had concluded with no safety threats to students and classes are set to resume Monday.
