Calgary broke a weather record on Tuesday that was over a century old.

According to Environment Canada, the previous record high for Calgary on May 3 was in 1897 when it was 26.7 C.

We were able to break the previous record by over a degree, reaching a highof 27.8 C by about 5 p.m.

The heat is expected to continue on Wednesday, with a foretasted high of 27 C.

Temperatures will then dip slightly on Thursday and Friday, but are expected to bounce back on the weekend with highs in the mid-20s.

Calgary previously set a record high temperature on April 19, when the mercury rose to 27 C.
