It’s been five years since the world watched Prince William and Kate Middleton tie the knot at Westminster Abbey.
And what a five years it’s been.
In honour of their relationship, we’ve recapped some of the Royal Couple’s biggest moments since April 29, 2011.
April 2011
After their ceremony, the duo celebrated with a reception at Buckingham Palace. Middleton wore a gown designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. The Telegraph reports that an estimated two billion people tuned in to watch their big day.
July 2011
The newlyweds arrived in Canada as part of their first Royal tour as husband and wife. They attended Canada Day celebrations at Parliament Hill and also stopped by the Calgary Stampede.
January 2012
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed a new addition to their family: a three-month old cocker spaniel named Lupo (his name means “wolf” in Italian). The couple also settled into their house in Wales.
August 2012
The pair took part in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
December 2012
After a year and a half of marriage, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced they were expecting their first child. Middleton’s pregnancy was revealed when she was hospitalized for severe morning sickness (hyperemesis gravidarum) in her first trimester. Because of her illness, the now 34-year-old took several months off of public engagements.
July 2013
Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their son, Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge. Prince George is now third in line to inherit the British throne.
October 2013
Prince George was christened in London with water from the River Jordan.
April 2014
The Royal Family visited Australia and New Zealand as part of a three-week tour of the countries.
July 2014
The Royal Family celebrated Prince George’s first birthday.
