A motorcyclist is dead after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into an ambulance on Highway 404 near Aurora on Sunday evening.

The crash occurred at around 7 p.m. as the driver was entering Highway 404 southbound from Wellington Road.

Police said the rider was rushed to hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Ontario Provincial Police identified the motorcyclist on Monday as 30-year-old Kosma Bakier from Mississauga.

The crash follows a string of motorcycle crashes in the GTA including three on Friday night in Toronto and one on Saturday that left 3 dead.
