EDMONTON – A woman in her fifties has died in a house fire on the Whitefish Lake First Nation north of Edmonton.
According to Whitefish Lake Band Chief Jessie Grey, the fire started around 3 a.m. Sunday morning and was contained to a single home.
Volunteer firefighters responded from a neighbouring community.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Whitefish Lake First Nation is located north of Slave Lake, about 378 kilometres from Edmonton.
