Four suspicious fires have taken place in the Punnichy area over a 14-day span this April, according to Saskatchewan RCMP. All of the blazes have occurred during daylight hours and are under investigation.

The most recent was reported on Friday. At around 1:20 p.m. CT, officers and firefighters were called to a structure fire in the rural municipality of Mount Hope.

A vacant house and an outbuilding on a farm were reportedly burning.

RCMP say the outbuilding was destroyed but the house and other nearby structures were saved due to the efforts of the Emerald Fire Department.
