LAKE COUNTRY–Fire investigators are treating a fire near St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Lake Country as suspicious.
Fire crews were called around 11:00 a.m. Friday morning.

A passing motorist noticed smoke coming from the church area.
When crews arrived, they found two tall cedars behind the church in flames.
The fire spread from the trees into the soffits of the church, threatening the attic.
Firefighters were able to knock the fire down before there was significant damage.
The investigation is continuing.
