Dirt bike rider killed after colliding with fence in southeast Edmonton

EDMONTON — A 40-year-old man is dead after the dirt bike he was riding collided with a fence in southeast Edmonton Thursday night.

Police were responding to an unrelated call when they came upon the collision in the area of Silverberry Road and 28 Avenue at around 6:10 p.m.

EMS crews were then called to the scene to assist. The 40-year-old man riding the dirt bike was declared dead on scene.

Silverberry Road between 32 and 28A Avenues has been closed to traffic as the EPS Major Collision Investigation Unit investigates.

The man’s name has not been released.
