VERDUN – A search is underway to find 33-year-old Katherine Anne Peacock.

Peacock’s family said the 33-year-old left her Rosemont-Petite-Patrie residence Wednesday around 11 p.m., and police were notified on Thursday.

Her family was concerned for her safety when they discovered that she left home without her wallet and cellphone.

“They told us that she loved to go down to the Verdun marina so that’s why we went there with a special team and we discovered her bag,” said Benoit Boisselle, from the Montreal Police.

Police said items in Peacock’s bag made them ramp up the investigation.

Sunday morning, family, friends, along with the Montreal Police, searched for Peacock by the waterfront in Verdun.

“It’s been pretty difficult, but right now we’re just trying to do everything we can to help with the investigation and hope that we could find her,” said her brother, Darren Peacock.

A few friends of Peacock’s hit the river and searched as well.

“I’m here now with some friends and we have a canoe, so we’re gonna go into the water now and just search the coastline, just down into the river opens up and hoping that we’ll have a better perspective than the people who are on the ground,” Ian Christopher Goodman said.

“I love her,” Darren said. “I would like to see her soon.”

Police described Peacock as five-feet-four inches tall and weighs about one hundred pounds.

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a brown hooded jacket.

Police are asking anyone who has seen Peacock to contact them at 514-393-1133.
