WINNIPEG — Manitoba’s NDP said it will boost funding to fix roads in Winnipeg if it’s reelected.
Candidate James Allum said the party would give the provincial capital $65 million a year to patch up potholes and fix dozens of streets.

He said that’s on top of the $250 million the NDP has already promised to spend on local roads over the next five years.
Allum says the cash is stable, predictable funding which help cities plan necessary infrastructure projects.

He said the construction also helps boost the economy by providing good jobs.
Manitoba voters go to the polls April 19.
