An extensive search eventually led to the discovery of charred remains in a barrel in a gravel pit near Beiseker.

In one intercepted conversation played for the jury, Tim Rempel calls his mother – saying his jeep had been seized by police.

“Got a problem,” he said.

The conversations heat up after Will is questioned by homicide detectives.

Will calls Tim and asks to meet in person.

Will told his brother he was “grilled” by a homicide detective for hours.

“They wouldn’t even let me have a f***g bathroom break,” he complained.

Will tells Tim the detective played a recording for him, and accuses his brother Tim and Sheena Cuthill of putting the blame on him.

“From what I heard on the tape you and Sheena hung me out to dry,” he said.

Tim tells Will, “I did not do that and to the best of my knowledge Sheena did not either.”

But Will tells Tim he worries about going to jail for life.
