Vernon Search and Rescue called out

UPDATE:  It has now been confirmed that this was a recovery mission.  No other information will be released.

UPDATE: Vernon Search and Rescue (SAR) is back in the Okanagan. Vernon SAR spokesperson Leigh Pearson says he can’t comment on the situation or if the man was rescued and/or transported by Vernon SAR. He has passed the file onto New Denver RCMP.

SLOCAN VALLEY, B.C. — Vernon Search and Rescue has been called to rescue a man in the Slocan Valley.

The helicopter winch team is in the midst of the rescue so not many details are available at this point.

Vernon Search and Resuce spokesperson Leigh Pearson says the man is “very seriously injured,” but couldn’t expand any further.
